A team is more than a sum of its parts. A good team takes the individual strengths of each player and combines them into an even stronger creative force.
And so it is with Regan Productions. Our team members bring a wealth of talent and experience to the table. Drawing from over ten years’ experience in their individual fields, our producers, directors, camera people, writers, sound technicians and support staff all provide unique insights and knowledge that better each project we undertake.
Regan Productions is able to customize each team to ensure we match team talents with client needs. This customization has proven beneficial in reducing time spent and duplication of effort and has resulted in greater cost efficiencies for our clients.
The Producer works closely with the client to flesh out the vision and ensures the vision matches the budget, and then hires the right crew to transfer the vision to video or film. The Producer supervises the entire production, from concept to completion. He or she oversees the crew and budget to ensure both hit the finish line at the same time. If parameters change during the course of a production, it is the Producer who sorts through the logistics and facilitates changes while ensuring the budget remains intact or budget is adjusted accordingly if applicable.
Production Manager
The Production Manager works closely with the client, Producer and all production crew throughout the process keeping all team members notified of key phases, timelines and production details.
If the Producer has the vision, it’s the Director who makes that vision a reality. The Director is a “hands on” person, who, as the title suggests, directs the action on the set. “Lights, camera, action!” sums up the key work of the Director. Ensuring that the vision is never far from sight, the Director makes sure that all of the elements involved in the production come together into a coherent whole. The Director is responsible for the overall look and feel of the production and is involved with the Producer from square one. The Director oversees the writing of the script and from that, begins piecing the elements of the project together. On the shoot, the Director makes sure all of the video footage required for the script is shot. The Director then selects the footage required to express the vision, and supervises the editing process.
The Camera Person is responsible for capturing images of the product, subject or people in the most flattering way possible. Working with the Director, he or she first determines the best location to begin videotaping and determines which tools will enhance the appearance of the images being captured. Some of these tools include various lenses, filters and camera settings. A significant next step is lighting. It can dramatically improve the appearance of the location, create a mood or atmosphere and showcase the on-camera people in their best ‘light’. The camera person works closely with the Producer and Director to understand location parameters, interview requirements and footage to be captured both prior and during the production day.
For a project to be successful, many valuable team members may need to be involved at various phases of the production. Depending on the required outcomes, these may include any, or all, of the following:
The Editor starts work once the Director has chosen the shots to be used for the final video. The Editor and Director put the puzzle together, taking the list of shots the Director has chosen and blending them, using a variety of techniques, to produce the final video. The Editor will carefully select music to match the pacing and tone of the finished video and will work with the Graphic Designer to incorporate the graphics he or she builds into the video.
The Animators and Graphic Designers helps to build the look of the final product. This can include responsibility for building maps, diagrams, and other graphic demonstrations, as well as preparing any photographs or other digital materials as requested by the Editor.
